The Villages of Alsasce Lorriane were a delight to us.  The vineyards were right beside us as we drove into the countryside.  Se stopped for wine tasting and enjoyed a "champane style bubbly followed by a wonderful riesling and a pinot noir.  We took the time to enjoy a neighboring village with time for shopping and "eis" with our favorite flavors of gelato/eis.

 These medieval villages all had gates and towers at the entrance.

The village church was the icon and landmark with its towers and imposing structures. Alsace charmed all of us.
