Avalon Felicity Salis to Stratsborg France

We approached the cathedral and the old city via canal boat.  Our first bit of liquid sunshine poured on us as we disembarked, but by the time we completed the tour, the sun again returned!
The Stratsborg Gothic Cathedral is a magnificent site and next year (2014) it will celebrate 1000 years. The spire can be seen for miles and helped guide travelers into this medieval walled city.  Inside we witnessed a mechanical clock with figurines which act out the striking of the time.  An the rose window...magnifique!

Half timbered homes with steep gabled roofs were the style of the city.  While the basements were damp, the attics were dry and that is where the year's harvest was stored.  Lots of flower boxes too.
